Philippa Roe is the leader of Westminster City Council. She is seeking the nomination to be the Conservative candidate for Mayor of London.
Philippa was born in Hampstead and grew up in the borough of Bromley. Her mother is Dame Marion Roe DBE, who served on the Greater London Council before standing for Parliament and representing the constituency of Broxbourne from 1983-2005.
She is married to Stephen Couttie, CEO of specialist Merchant Bank, Collabrium Capital. They have ten-year-old twins.
Philippa Roe was elected to Westminster City Council in 2006, quickly moving through the ranks. She was appointed Cabinet Member for Housing under the then leader, Sir Simon Milton, who became Boris Johnson’s chief of staff in 2008 before his untimely death in 2012.
